Job Summary
CTD Care Services are looking for enthusiastic applicants with a positive approach and commitment to improving people’s lives. Previous experience in care is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given. NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential with a view to working towards it.
As a Support Worker, you will be providing support to individuals living in their own homes by promoting the rights and independence of each of them in various settings including supported living, community hospitals and home care.
You will assist with everyday tasks and ensure the individual needs are met physically, socially and emotionally. Working closely with core staff and external agencies you will build positive relationships and enable the individuals to meet their full potential at home and out in the community.
Key duties will include:
Main duties and responsibilities:Providing quality support to the individuals who receive our services, in their daily living, within their homes within the community.
We are based in Carmarthen and our geographical area covers, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion counties, however our contracts are mainly within Carmarthenshire. Our services will be provided within the West Wales regional partnership board.
We ask that you: –
- Provide an enhanced disclosure met by employer once you are a successful candidate
- Work together with team members carrying out designated tasks involving direct care
- Promoting independence with dignity and respect, robustly encouraging control and choice
- To contribute to the planning of care for individual in the community and maintaining care records where appropriate, including reporting of any observations made
- Follow care/support plans and risk assessments
- Promote equality and acknowledge individuals needs and differences
- Provide physical support with personal care including washing, dressing, nutrition and hydration, general mobility or support using assessed equipment
- Encourage the development of personal skills through recreational activities and hobbies
- Write accurate reports and keep up to date with company policies and procedures
- To act in an emergency by notifying the emergency services, Responsible Individual and/ or Registered Manager
- Function effectively as part of the team working flexible shifts including night duties, weekends and bank holidays
- Observe and ensure that quality standards of care are maintained in respect of personal hygiene and food hygiene
- To carry out duties which may be required under the direction of the Registered Manager or by an individual acting on their behalf
- To work in accordance with the Codes of Professional Practice and CTD Care Services Ltd policies and procedures
- To attend the Joint Induction training which runs for 6 days over 6 weeks to ensure you are working towards the requirements for your registration
As part of the team, your manager will complete regular supervisions with you and you will be required to attend training and education as identified at annual appraisals and/or by the organisation. To achieve or sign up to NVQ 2 or equivalent within one year of employment at CTD Care and Support Ltd.

- Full Driving Licence is preferred for this role
